Better outdoor spaces
Bring out the best in your wood.
Sun, rain, and daily use can leave outdoor wood faded, gray, or coated with an old finish that has begun to fail. A new stain can bring warmth and a more cared-for look to the space.
Preparation matters as much as color. We evaluate the existing coating and wood condition, then explain what cleaning, sanding, repairs, drying time, and finish application your project calls for.

How we work
The finish starts with the prep.
Assess the wood and scope
We look at the existing coating, worn areas, repairs, access, and the look you want before recommending a plan.
Clean and prepare
We protect nearby areas and complete the agreed cleaning, sanding, or other preparation. Repaired or replaced wood is included only when quoted.
Allow the wood to dry
Exterior staining depends on weather and wood moisture. We schedule application when the wood and conditions suit the selected product.
Stain and review
We apply the specified finish according to its requirements, clean up, and walk through the work with you.
Good to know
Questions before you stain?
The existing wood and finish will guide the preparation and product choice.
How soon after washing can wood be stained?
It needs to dry sufficiently for the stain you choose. Weather, shade, wood condition, and the product requirements all affect timing, so we check the conditions rather than promising a fixed number of days.
Can you stain over an old coating?
Sometimes, but it depends on the type and condition of the existing finish. Loose or incompatible coatings may need more prep or removal before a new stain will look and hold properly.
Is one coat enough?
Coat count depends on the product, surface, and desired appearance. We’ll specify the planned application in your estimate and follow the selected manufacturer’s instructions.
Can you repair boards before staining?
Yes, damaged boards and loose hardware can be evaluated and priced as part of the project. The written estimate will identify what repair work is included.
Will you stain both sides of my fence?
We can discuss both sides where there is access and permission to work. Your estimate will state which faces, gates, and other components are included.
What happens if it rains?
We may adjust cleaning or staining dates when weather would affect safe work, proper drying, or product performance. We’ll keep you informed about the schedule.
